Let me introduce you to Enzo — my brother’s whippet dog son, professional napper and part-time zoomie champion. This dog is the absolute definition of “unemployed,” and yet, somehow, exhausted all day long.

20 hours sound good...

Enzo can sleep 20 hours a day. Yes, 20. When he’s not napping, he’s either chasing his ball at lightning speed, tearing his soft toys, zooming with his beloved Kong toy, or giving you the kind of look that says, “Give me treats or face the consequences.” Spoiler: I’m the only dog aunt who actually can’t resist those eyes. I mean, who can?

Enzo is happiest on his “dog holidays” — aka quality time with me and my husband, where he gets unlimited pets, treats, new toys and the kind of attention that would make any CEO jealous. He zooms, he sleeps, he demands snacks. It’s a tough life being this unemployed and adorable, but someone’s got to do it.

So, here’s to Enzo — the hardest-working unemployed dog I know. May your naps be long, your balls be bouncy, and your treat stash never run dry.
